Post Description:

Working in the Information and Communications Technology Department, the responsibility is to manage the service calls from the users of the Bioinformatics platforms.Likewise, it is also his/her responsibility to support any user –whether laboratory or researcher, showing specific needs within his/her competence scope.

The main tasks of the Bioinformatics systems Administrator are the following:

Solving, either directly or through external suppliers, those incidents that may arise in the different bioinformatics platforms available at the CRG. Managing the equipment and the operating systems. Management of the CPU storage.

PhD candidate in Comparative Genomics

We are actively seeking for a PhD candidate to work in the Mitochondria and peroxisomes and their role in disease" funded by the Spanish ministryof Science. The project involves evolutionary analyses of mitochondrial and peroxisomal proteins to elucidate the role of disease-relevant proteins. Although the work to be performed by the candidate is purely computational, the project involves active collaboration with experimental researchers.

Candidates should have a Master degree on Biology, Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Computer Science or related fields. A strong backrgound in biology and experience in bioinformatics analyses are required. Programming skills in python and/or perl will be valuable for the project.
